It’s December — that time of the year when we tend to think a lot about what we’re thankful for, and, if we can be honest, we’re thankful for you! It’s made all our holiday wishes come true knowing that we have so many dedicated supporters around the country who see the value in kids realizing they have the power to make a difference in the world.
Thinking about this incredible community of educators has inspired some New Year’s resolutions of our own: we want to grow our TeachUNICEF community to be as big as possible, so that every student has the opportunity to learn about UNICEF and help other kids.
We believe every student has the power to help another child around the globe. When kids help other kids, they become global citizens and help make the world a better place.
With the giving and holiday seasons upon us, we don’t want to wait for 2018 to get started! We’ve teamed up with Kid Power Coach Joe “Mr.D” Dombrowski to spread a little love and holiday cheer to some of our favorite people—teachers! Check out Mr.D’s posts about UNICEF Kid Power on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter and do these two things to be a part of this holiday cheer:
2. Tag a friend or colleague and tell him/her why Kids Helping Kids initiatives are important. You can use #whyiteachunicef or #kids4unicef in your comment, but it’s most important that you tag a friend to share the cheer.
Do these two things by Friday, December 22 and you’ll be entered to win one of five UNICEF Kid Power classroom kits to participate in our spring program starting March 1, 2018. A kit comes with 40 UNICEF Kid Power bands, a WiFi-enabled tablet, and more. (Full rules here.)
And if you get a little b-o-r-e-d on holiday break, check out our collection of free global education resources that can help you teach your students about what it means to be a global citizen.
~ From all of us, we wish you a wonderful holiday season and the very best in 2018! ~
